As expected, last week was not a good one for its Cheat Sheet precision. Aero-restricted superspeedways are incredibly difficult to predict and the 3 races at Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway this season are the least accurate with a wide margin. Then again, the same was true last season — and in actuality, that the 2019 edition of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 has been 3.5 rankings better than in 2018.
With no limited tracks, the cheat sheet precision is far better than six positions away from ideal on average. More to the point, several of those 1.5-mile tracks have featured some of our best predictions with Las Vegas Motor Speedway topping the chart at 3.62 away from perfect. Atlanta was also among the races using a variance of approximately five.
1. Martin Truex Jr..
Truex has dominated this course within the previous two years using a sweep of all four Stages and back-to-back race wins at Kentucky Speedway.
2. Joey Logano
Unless this group experiments exceptionally or makes a mistake in the pits, Logano should be a simple pick to evaluate a top-five. His last two attempts on 1.5-milers finished in a second at Charlotte and next at Chicagoland.
3. Brad Keselowski
With the exclusion of accidents at 2017 and 2013, Keselowski was flawless at Kentucky. His three wins there lead the league.
4. Kyle Busch
Busch isn’t immune to trouble about the 1.5-mile tracks. Two of his three attempts on these ended beyond the top 20 in outcomes.
5. Kevin Harvick
This may be the week Harvick reverses his fortune. In eight tries at Kentucky he has gotten progressively better and he also scored his first top-five there last year.
