Earthlight could possibly be on track this season, to operate at Newmarket.
Trainer Andre Fabre was planning the Prix Morny winner in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes over seven furlongs at October – but with the devastating National Stakes winner Pinatubo of Charlie Appleby likely to signify owners Godolphin in this, Earthlight’s goal is set to switch.
As Richard Hannon machine, a clash with the likes of Ger Lyon’s unbeaten Siskin and a result Mums Tipple is about the cards on September 28.
“Of course, given that Pinatubo is now likely to go to the Dewhurst, we’ve experienced a rethink about Earthlight,” said Fabre.
“I’m awaiting for Sheikh Mohammed’s decision, but I’d have thought he would go to the Middle Park now.
“He’s won a Group One over six furlongs at the Prix Morny, therefore we will not be asking him to do anything else different.
“The Middle Park does seem quite a good race this year, but there isn’t any such thing as a simple Group One.”
