Another ugly for the San Jose Sharks, since they open the season with no issues and 2 losses. Both of their losses came with the Vegas Golden Knights sweeping the house and home collection, from precisely exactly the group. The Golden Knights won a 4-1 decision on Wednesday night and then had a similar end. The night vegas conquered the Sharks at the Shark Tank in San Jose with a score of 5-1. Yikes. Not the start the Sharks were looking for. They will get out on the ice Saturday from the Ducks in Anaheim.
Its early in the summer, however this is an important stretch for the Sharks. GM Doug Wilson is going to begin studying Peter DeBoer and wonder whether hes the right guy for the job if they continue to falter. DeBoer was with the Sharks for four decades and they have had success at the regular season. In his initial season with the Sharks at 2015-16, they lost from the Pittsburgh Penguins and went into the Stanley Cup Final. The group went into the Conference Final last year and dropped in six games to the Blues.
With that sort of success, DeBoer is going to get a grace period and some wiggle room. Unless things go sour wilson isnt likely to snap fire him. If the locker room isnt currently responding to DeBoer, then the idea of shooting him is going to cross Wilsons mind. Failing to win the Stanley Cup in his tenure has turned some fans .
Three games into this season, a matchup against the Ducks becomes an important one. The Golden Knights are a team that is fantastic, although the Ducks are not expected to do. At least not individuals possess the Ducks going into the playoffs. So, if they come out after that debacle last night and play with another sport that was lazy, it may set the tone. Aaron Dell is likely to start in net for the Sharks tonight. Martin Jones hasnt been sharp that the first two games, so its a wonderful opportunity for Dell this evening. Head under for our free Sharks vs. Ducks pick.
For a group who looked as sloppy last night, because the Sharks did, it might be for the better that they get out on the ice immediately. Instead of having time to live in their two matches from the Knights, the Sharks can get straight back out searching for a bounce-back performance. It is too early in the season for a back-to-back to make an impact on a team. And this isnt a high-powered team the Sharks are going to be up against on Saturday night.
The Ducks eked past the Arizona Coyotes to get a triumph to open the season. It was. A dip or there in favor of the Coyotes may have given them the win instead of the Ducks. Their capacity to score goals was on display against the Coyotes while the Ducks got the win.
This team will be fine defensively with Cam Fowler around the line, but they will need to go above expectations to reach the playoffs. The Ducks notched just 2.39 targets per game for 31st in the league a year ago. Its likely not sufficient to find a drastic improvement, although some youthful talent can help the veterans. The Sharks have to be glad to see an offensively challenged team like the Ducks after having to deal with the Golden Knights.
The Sharks shouldnt hurt in this place like I said. They get to place from the heads quickly. It would be another story, because there would have been a chance of carrying the Ducks tonight maybe if they pummeled Vegas last night. Following those two performances and getting beat by a combined score of 9-2, there is not time to shoot the Ducks. The Sharks probably wake up in Anaheim in this one. Despite the way they seemed against Vegas, this cost is a deal against the Ducks.
