As they open the season with no issues and two losses another ugly for the San Jose Sharks. Both of their losses came with the Vegas Golden Knights crossing the home and house series. The Golden Knights Friday night had a similar end and won a 4-1 decision on Wednesday night. Vegas conquered the Sharks at the Shark Tank at San Jose by a score of 5-1 the night. Yikes. Not the beginning the Sharks looked for. Theyll get out on the ice against the Ducks in Anaheim.
It is early in the summer, but this is an important stretch for the Sharks. Should they continue to falter, GM Doug Wilson is going to begin looking at Peter DeBoer and wonder whether hes the perfect guy for the task. DeBoer was with the Sharks for several years and they have had success in the normal season ever since. In his first year with the Sharks at 2015-16, they moved into the Stanley Cup Final and lost from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team dropped in six games to the Blues and went to the Conference Final last year.
With that type of success, DeBoer will find a grace period plus some wiggle room. Wilson is not going to fire him unless things really go sour at October. In case the locker room isnt currently reacting to DeBoer, then the thought of shooting him is going to cross Wilsons mind. Failing to win the Stanley Cup in his tenure has turned some fans .
Three games into the season, a matchup against the Ducks becomes a significant one. Although the Ducks are not predicted to do too much, the Golden Knights are a fantastic team. At least not many people possess the Ducks going to the playoffs. Thus, if they play another game that was idle and come out then debacle, it may set the tone for the remainder of the month. Aaron Dell is probable to begin in net for the Sharks tonight. Martin Jones hasnt been sharp that the first two matches, so its a wonderful prospect for Dell this day. Head below for our complimentary Sharks vs. Ducks pick.
For a group who seemed cluttered last night because the Sharks did, it might be for the better which they get out to the ice instantly. Instead of having time to dwell in their two games from the Knights, the Sharks will get back out searching for a performance. Its too early in the summer for a back-to-back to make an impact on a team. And this is not a high-powered team the Sharks are going to be up against on Saturday night.
The Ducks eked past the Arizona Coyotes for a win to open the entire year. It was a match which could have gone either way. A bounce here or there in favor of this Coyotes could have given them the win instead of the Ducks. Their capacity to score goals was on display against the Coyotes while the Ducks got the triumph.
This group will be fine with Cam Fowler around the blue line, however they have to go well above expectations offensively to get to the playoffs. The Ducks notched just 2.39 targets per match for 31st in the league a year ago. It not enough to see a drastic improvement, although the veterans will be helped by some young talent. The Sharks must be pleased to observe an offensively challenged team such as the Ducks on the program after having to deal with the Golden Knights.
Like I said, the back-to-back shouldnt hurt the Sharks within this place. They get to place from their heads quickly. When they pummeled Vegas night itd be a different story, as there would have been a chance of taking the Ducks lightly tonight. Getting beat by a combined score of 9-2 and Observing those two performances, there is not time to choose the Ducks softly. The Sharks wake up in Anaheim within this one. Despite how they appeared against Vegas, this price is a deal against the Ducks.
