Magical, Headman and Also the Exotic Elarqam are among 11 horses confirmed for Its Qipco Irish Champion Stakes.

Aidan O’Brien has saddled a seven winners of Saturday’s 10-furlong showpiece, after the Ballydoyle handler withdrew Japan, who looks set to head directly to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Magical appears his chief competitor for this year’s renewal.
Magical kicked off her campaign with three successive wins – finishing her hat-trick in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh in May.
Galileo’s girl has filled the place on each of her three starts – chasing dwelling Crystal Ocean in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes before finding foe Permit too strong in the Coral-Eclipse in Sandown and the Yorkshire Oaks.
Donnacha O’Brien, the coach’s son, has not ridden Magical reluctantly in more than two years, but might be on board that this weekend should Ryan Moore remain in Britain to ride in the William Hill St Leger at Doncaster.
O’Brien junior explained:”She is a very demanding, consistent mare and she provides her finest running every time. Her form is right up there with all the finest in the world, bar Enable, so she appears to be moving there with a shout.
“Obviously I am not sure what is going to appear yet, but she looks like the one they are totally going to need to beat.
“She is an exceptional mare – she’s probably up there with the very best that I’ve ridden. She is just very unlucky to maintain the exact same two decades that Permit was. You are not going to get fillies like that annually.
“She is a fantastic mare and she’s been a terrific servant for us.”
O’Brien has left in 2000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia, Magic Wand, Investec Derby hero Anthony Van Dyck, Hunting Horn and Pink Dogwood.
There’s set for a strong British challenge, together with Roger Charlton’s Headman combined from the Mark Johnston-trained Elarqam after the latter was added to the field at Tuesday phase.
Whilst Elarqam made a career-best performance to finish a close-up third in the Juddmonte International at York, headman has made his step up to the maximum level by winning Group two prizes in France.
Elarqam is one of two likely runners such as Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, together with Kevin Prendergast’s stable star Madhmoon.
The possible field is completed by raider Deirdre – winner of the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on her latest outing.
The other Group One on Longines Irish Champions Weekend’s day is the Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes.
With double 1000 Guineas heroine Hermosa apparently the trainer string o’Brien accounts for half the 10 fillies in contention – ahead of Goddess, I Will Fly, Coral Beach , Simply Wonderful and Happen.
Donnacha O’Brien stated of Hermosa:”She’s in excellent form. She’s had a little bit of a break, the last few weeks, along with her job seems to be really, really good since – probably as good as I’ve felt her all yearold, so she looks to be going there with a huge possibility.”
The one would be Karl Burke’s defending champion and six-time Group One winner Laurens, that inflicted a shock defeat in the past year’s renewal on Alpha Centauri.
Joseph O’Brien’s set of the John Oxx-trained Skitter Scatter and Iridessa and Red Tea will be another hopefuls.
The Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes is still a Group 2, together with Lancaster House – who claimed his unbeaten record on Monday at Listowel – one of 19 horses moving.
Other contenders include Dermot Weld’s Imaging, David O’Meara’s Suedois and the Surrounding of Mick Halford.
