Last year, 22 of the 35 Carabao Cup first round games watched both teams score, and now I’m expecting for more carnage that Tuesday.
It’s still quite early in the summer, and it is always tough to predict how many changes that the many managers will make for this particular round of fixtures, but I have identified five matches that have great BTTS possible.
I am starting off with the biggie: AFC Wimbledon v MK Dons.
Wally Downes has made a name for himself at Kingsmeadow, although it’s away from home in which he is really excelled — at home land, his Wimbledon unwanted are extremely vulnerable, as well as 65% of the Kingsmeadow encounters seeing both groups score last season, I’m confident for a replica on Tuesday.
Both of Wimbledon’s League One games this campaign have observed both teams rating, while newly-promoted MK Dons (who had a 70% BTTS-rate on the street last season) will fancy their odds of finding the net against the Wombles.
This will be a highly-charged setting, and goals shouldn’t be in short supply. ??
After playing a 2-2 draw as recently as Saturday, Mansfield and Morecambe meet once again at Field Mill.
Though Mansfield ought to be too powerful for Morecambe, the Stags have appeared a shadow of his former selves defensively this season, conceding two in the first half at the opening two matches.
It feels like new Stags boss John Dempster hasn’t quite got his feet under the desk after David Flitcroft’s sacking in the conclusion of last season, and I am confident the Shrimps will probably once more be able to harness this and find the net on Tuesday (while also conceding in all probability ).
The four games QPR and Bristol City have played collectively this year have seen both teams score, and I expect nothing different at Loftus Road.
I’ve been impressed with QPR this season, and they have some extremely good young players who will deal the Robins some damage — chief Eberechi Eze and Ilias Chair.
Bristol City are a better side than QPR on paper, and have the caliber to find the net on Tuesday; together with four goals in their last two visits to Loftus Road, I’m certain they will.
Grimsby have amazed me so far this year; the League Two outfit have four points from their two games from Morecambe and Bradford, and that I think they’ll provide League One Doncaster a excellent match at Blundell Park.
Darren Moore’s Donny have attracted their opening two league games 1-1, and I just cannot watch them hitting the peaks of last year, where they ended in the play-offs under Grant McCann.
This is supposed to be a hard-fought game; well over half of Doncaster’s off games saw both teams score last year, and I believe that is well worth backing on Tuesday.
My last BTTS choice is Huddersfield v Lincoln, at a very solid price.
The Terriers haven’t appeared up to considerably defensively this year, and I will see them struggling against a Lincoln side who aren’t just mortal from set-pieces, but appreciate a Cupset.
Both of Huddersfield’s games this season have seen both teams score, while the Imps have won their opening two 2-0 — the most recent away at Rotherham where–despite being pummelled for the majority of the game–they scored via two large balls into the box.
Lincoln’s physicality will cause Huddersfield issues at the John Smith’s, and also evens is a fantastic price to rear either side having pleasure before goal.
