Frank Lampard has”most of the conditions” to succeed as Chelsea head coach, according to former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.
Lampard took over after one year as a head coach from Maurizio Sarri in July with Derby at the Sky Bet Championship.
Mourinho handled Lampard across two charms at Stamford Bridge, allowing the midfielder.
“One thing is that the player, yet another thing is the manager,” Mourinho said. “The participant, I really don’t believe any Chelsea fan will disagree with me if I say is among the top five most significant players of Chelsea history, and probably some will say maybe not high five, possibly leading three.
“Another matter is his first own managerial career, one year of experience at Derby where he revealed good qualities and today he’s Chelsea in his hands.
“He plays for big things. He plays Champions Leaguehe played with a European Super Cup, he had already big games in his palms , and he has to grow up with the degree of experiences, which I think he can because he has huge experience.”
“I cannot separate from the fact that soccer was always in his life. He was born son of a participant, he climbed [nephew] of a soccer manager, he became a participant, he turned into a top player… I think he’s all of the conditions to succeed.”
Lampard has endured a testing start on his return to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea losing the UEFA Super Cup final to Liverpool, also winning just one of their four Premier League fixtures.
